Functional ceramics and handprinted home goods, created using time-honoured techniques and designed for modern homes.

Studio Ekta is shaped by the Ekta’s heritage and a love for traditional making techniques. Ekta creates functional, handmade pottery for the home, designed for everyday use. Each piece is crafted with close attention to form, balance, and texture, so it feels as good in the hand as it looks on the table.

The Studio also creates hand-printed home textiles and paper goods using Indian block printing techniques, honouring time-tested processes for objects that are uplifting, ethical, and personal. Made in small batches, valuing skill, story, and sustainability over speed or scale.

Workshops

Dive into hands-on clay and block printing.

Our block-printed paper goods are made using traditional Indian printing techniques. Each piece is printed by hand, resulting in subtle variations that make every item unique. The process values rhythm, care, and repetition, rather than perfection.

Designed for everyday use, these are paper goods meant to be written in, painted in, stored in. Hopefully, they bring colour and craft into your day and as much as they have given me as a maker.

Made in small batches, each piece reflects a respect for material, process, and the pleasure of using something thoughtfully made.

Our workshops offer a relaxed, hands-on introduction to working with clay and traditional block printing.

You’ll learn through doing, guided through the process while leaving room for exploration, curiosity, and personal expression.

The workshops are small and no previous experience is needed, just an openness to making and taking your time.

These sessions are less about perfect outcomes and more about the experience of craft and enjoying the process.

Workshops

I create simple, functional pottery for everyday life.

Each piece is shaped by hand, with care given to form, balance, and the way it feels in use. The work is bright, colourful and considered, allowing subtle textures and natural finishes to take centre stage.

Made in small batches, the pottery is designed for daily rituals, from morning coffee to shared meals. These are pieces to live with, to return to often, and to enjoy over time.

WHAT THEY SAY

I have always enjoyed making things and so decided to try the pottery workshop. Each time I attend, I make random decisions about what I will make and enjoy what emerges. Thanks Ekta!

Workshop Attendee

Having attended a fair number of ceramic workshops, I took the opportunity to experiment with hand-building. Inspiration came from many places and Ekta was so helpful. I will be back.

Workshop Attendee

I bought a couple of Ekta’s swirl mugs last year and I love the size and the design. Came back to the Catford Arts Trail for more this year and was not disappointed!
